Abeba Alemu Mitiku
Abeba Alemu Mitiku is an Ethiopian attorney whose career has moved from the bench to private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a Master of Laws in International Law (LL.M.), and works across the Ethiopian federal courts on commercial, family, and criminal matters.
Abeba started as an Assistant Judge and went on to serve at both the Federal First Instance Court and the Federal High Court. She spent years deciding civil, family, and criminal cases. That experience now shapes how she approaches every matter in private practice.
In 2018, Abeba left the bench and opened her own office. She now represents a wide range of clients: international corporations navigating Ethiopian business regulation, individuals in family disputes, and defendants in complex criminal matters.
Outside of client work, Abeba serves as Board Secretariat of the Ethiopian Lawyers Association and gives pro bono time to the Federal Supreme Court Child Justice Unit, working on cases involving children in the justice system.
